We are taking a coach approach to this spring meltdown. Time to get serious about losing weight by this summer.

Over the next 9 weeks my blog will focus on a different meltdown topic. Each week will build on the week prior. I will be assuming that you have read each article and completed the assignment,

Thus far you have:
1. Posted affirmations throughout the house reminding you that you are on track.
2. Kick started your metabolism with a cleanse / detox program www.shakeology.com/mindoverplatter
3. Done a reality check to see how your summer clothes fit.
4. Selected an outfit that represents your goal.
5. Have your outfit hung for you to see daily.
6. Coasted through the holiday season.

In case the last one was not as successful as you hoped, let’s start there. Not only did we have a holiday but it was also spring break. A lot of people including myself vacationed during the last couple of weeks. It isn’t easy to coast without serious effort. Let’s start fresh. Today is a new day and you still can make your goal.

Summer is 9 weeks away. I have worked with thousands of people and can assure you that losing 1-2 pounds per week is attainable. This is the ideal time to begin.

This weeks assignment is to go through the above list and get caught up.

If you don’t have an affirmation. Write one and post it everyone. Some of my favorites that my clients have used include:
I am tall and slender
I am sassy and sexy
Nothing tastes as good as thin feels
I easily and effortlessly maintain my ideal weight
I have a healthy relationship with food
I am lovable, adorable and thin
If you think your metabolism can use a kick start, try a cleanse for a few days. I just drink my morning shake 2-3 times throughout the day and eat veggies / salad for a few days. It will help break the sugar habit.

Make sure you do your reality check and try on some clothes. Hang your summer outfit up where you can see it. This will direct your subconscious mind to point you in the right direction.

If you have already done all of the above – bravo!! You are going to reach your goal! Keep up the excellent work. Then the next thing I am going to have you do is find a picture that motives you. Put is on your mirror or the refrigerator. It needs to be a positive picture. One of yourself looking good or someone that you think looks healthy. This will tell your subconscious mind that you mean business! It really works.

If you haven’t done so, subscribe to my ezine at MindOverPlatter.com. Each week, I will send a brief outline of what our topic is for the week with a Thinking Thin Thought for you to focus on. The blog will elaborate on the theme with more detail.

You can lose 15 pounds by June! Keep reading your post it notes. Affirm you are on track. Imagine fat is melting off of your body. Get excited at the thought of being fit and trim.

Now, It’s time for the dreaded reality check. You can’t celebrate in June unless you know where you were in March / April. Find outfits that you will be wearing this June and try them on. If you have lost weight since last June, head out to your favorite store and try clothes on. Notice what size you are and how the next size down fits.

Ideally you will have something in your closet to try on as you are losing weight. Use this as a motivator. Select something to wear that is attainable and try it on once per week. If you have a special event to attend, hang that outfit where you can see it daily. This is a powerful command to your subconscious mind.

I have a dress in mind for myself and will be doing exactly what I am advising you to do. I want to slide into this dress. I also want my arms to be tone. This will be what I envision when I look at the dress.

Let’s post pictures of your summer outfit! Check out my dress on www.facebook.com/mindoverplatter1

15 pounds lighter by June! The weight loss meltdown has begun! Your first mind shift will be to think of spring differently. When you ponder about the season of spring deliberately think “Spring Meltdown!” This will continue to rewire your brain in a healthy way. Thinking thin is all about mind shifts. You can be 15 pounds thinner by June! I know you can do it.

Your assignment is to write down “The spring melt down has begun! I am on track to be 15 pounds thinner by June!” Post this declaration all over your home, car, office and any where you will see it. By doing this, you will activate your mind’s creativity. It will start to subconsciously guide you.

If you haven’t done a cleanse, begun one soon to kickstart your weight loss.

Spring is coming and it is a great time to prep the body for some serious weight loss. We have been exploring what you believe and see within your mind will influence your body, I have a mind swift request for you. When you think of spring, think of it as a meltdown…in a positive way. The snow melts, the air becomes warm and the birds return. A meltdown is a source of joy when winters gives way to spring.

Season’s change and so should our habits. This spring can be a metaphor for you. Focus your thoughts on melting fat off of your body. Let the spring be a positive trigger for you as the snow melts so does your body fat. How you choose to make this happen has many options. For now, say to yourself “It is time for a spring meltdown!”

I kick off a spring meltdown with a three day cleanse. Think of it as a spring cleaning if you will. Three things happen with a cleanse.
1. You will take a break from food and that will shrink your stomach.
2. Your body will naturally detox and rid itself of toxins that interfere with weight loss.
3. You will drop 5 pounds and kick start the melting of fat from your body.

I have tried a lot of cleanses, I find the shakeology brand meal replacement program to have the most nutrient dense formula so far. It tastes good and fills you up, plus it is a super food and loaded with nutrition. You can read more about it on www.shakeology.com/mindoverplatter The three day cleanse is simple to follow. Drink the shake for breakfast and lunch, snack on raw vegetables and for dinner have a salad, steamed vegetable and a white source of protein (like chicken or fish). If you want to intensify the detox element and really give your colon a good cleaning, skip the meat and eat only raw organic foods.

Your mind is magnificent! It can show you exactly what your looking for. This applies to the good and bad in our world. Your expectations have set in motion a series of awarenesses. Your mind justifies why you believe what you do. It literally scans the surroundings. Alerting you to pay attention to anything that matches your expectations.

When you decide to change your body you must believe in your ability to do so. If you doubt this, your mind will buy into the doubt more than the desire. Expect success! Believe that you will manifest that healthy fit body. See it within your minds eye. Your brain will scan for all the ways for you to reach the results you deserve.

Your assignment this week is to ask yourself: “what would you have to believe is true, (for you), to pursue a healthy and fit body”. Find that trigger belief and shape into something positive.

I recall pondering this question with a client. She realized that most of the women in her family were overweight. She subconsciously believed if she lost weight she would only regain it. I asked her to reshape that thought into one that affirmed her weight loss was permanent. We started to visualize her losing weight and keeping it off for decades. In a short time her mind started to focus on women who maintained weight loss for years. The more she believed in her ability to keep off the weight, the easier it was to envision it. Within a few months she lost 25 pounds and glowed with excitement. Nothing was going to stop her momentum!

I usually give you tips on how to celebrate Valentine’s Day without too many sweets. This year, I want to go in a different direction.

I don’t want you to give your power away. You do not need a commercialized holiday to celebrate your love for someone. You are a lovable person, always have been and always will be. If Valentines Day is important to you. Ask yourself why you only require one day per year to feel loved? If what I am saying annoys you, then I might have struck a nerve. I would invite you to probe a little deeper. Love is the foundation of nurturing relationships. It is a joy to show the person you love how much special they are. I am not saying to skip Valentine’s Day – I am asking you to select a way to celebrate it that reflects your values and brings you closer to you mate.

We all show love differently. Ask yourself what needs to happen for you to feel loved. Then find out what your mate needs to feel loved. If you make time on a regular basis to honor one another in this way you will feel loved every day!

Personally, I don’t care about candy, jewelry or lavish gifts. I like time with my Jer. We will pray together, enjoy a nice dinner, sip wine and relax. If you know me, then you know that I pretty much do that with my husband regularly. I take the guesswork out of what makes me happy.

Let’s face it ladies, men get the short end of the stick when it comes to Valentine’s Day. All of the advertising is geared to them to spend a fortune to let us know they love us. We have been brainwashed to put way to much meaning into one day. It is a lot of pressure for them. Let’s take away the mystery and communicate. Be honest and realistic – what makes you feel loved? What makes your mate feel loved? Make a priority to give this to each other on Valentine’s Day as well as everyday.

Sunday was the Superbowl. It is always a fun opportunity to gather with friends and family. I personally look forward to the commercials. We eat, drink, play cards and watch a little football.

Monday is the day to get back on track. No matter how much damage you may have done on Sunday, Monday is the day to turn it around. Do not let Sunday’s food fest become a trend. We are training your brain to think like a naturally thin person.

Naturally thin people plan on eating at the party. They enjoy the gathering, the food, the people and when it’s over so is the indulgence. Monday is the day to refocus. They toss out, give away or freeze the “naughty” left overs, eat lite and head to the gym.

This week remind yourself that you are back on track. Drink more water, eat more vegetables, less sugar and move a lot more.
