			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I usually give you tips on how to celebrate Valentine&#8217;s Day without too many sweets. This year, I want to go in a different direction.</p>
<p>I don&#8217;t want you to give your power away. You do not need a commercialized holiday to celebrate your love for someone. You are a lovable person, always have been and always will be. If Valentines Day is important to you. Ask yourself why you only require one day per year to feel loved? If what I am saying annoys you, then I might have struck a nerve. I would invite you to probe a little deeper. Love is the foundation of nurturing relationships. It is a joy to show the person you love how much special they are. I am not saying to skip Valentine&#8217;s Day &#8211; I am asking you to select a way to celebrate it that reflects your values and brings you closer to you mate.</p>
<p>We all show love differently. Ask yourself what needs to happen for you to feel loved.  Then find out what your mate needs to feel loved. If you make time on a regular basis to honor one another in this way you will feel loved every day!</p>
<p>Personally, I don&#8217;t care about candy, jewelry or lavish gifts. I like time with my Jer. We will pray together, enjoy a nice dinner, sip wine and relax. If you know me, then you know that I pretty much do that with my husband regularly. I take the guesswork out of what makes me happy. </p>
<p>Let&#8217;s face it ladies, men get the short end of the stick when it comes to Valentine&#8217;s Day. All of the advertising is geared to them to spend a fortune to let us know they love us. We have been brainwashed to put way to much meaning into one day. It is a lot of pressure for them. Let&#8217;s take away the mystery and communicate. Be honest and realistic &#8211; what makes you feel loved? What makes your mate feel loved? Make a priority to give this to each other on Valentine&#8217;s Day as well as everyday.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Sunday was the Superbowl. It is always a fun opportunity to gather with friends and family. I personally look forward to the commercials. We eat, drink, play cards and watch a little football. </p>
<p>Monday is the day to get back on track. No matter how much damage you may have done on Sunday, Monday is the day to turn it around. Do not let Sunday&#8217;s food fest become a trend. We are training your brain to think like a naturally thin person.</p>
<p>Naturally thin people plan on eating at the party. They enjoy the gathering, the food, the people and when it&#8217;s over so is the indulgence. Monday is the day to refocus. They toss out, give away or freeze the &#8220;naughty&#8221; left overs, eat lite and head to the gym. </p>
<p>This week remind yourself that you are back on track. Drink more water, eat more vegetables, less sugar and move a lot more.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The subconscious mind is like a heat seeking missile.  It goes toward the target persistently and tirelessly. The target is what is programmed into your mind. This program includes your self-image.</p>
<p>In others words, who your unconscious mind thinks you are forms who you consciously become. We&#8217;ve talked about this a lot. I emphasize it because I want you to understand why it is so important for you to follow through with the assignments I am giving you. I hope you will trust me as your weight loss coach and follow my recommendations. I promise to guide you in a way that will empower you! </p>
<p>With that said, you need to consciously identify your weight loss goal so that your subconscious mind will mark this as THE target! Not a possible target, but the only target worth pursuing. You can&#8217;t hit a moving target, which is precisely why I am asking you to clarify the end result and hit activate!</p>
<p>The simple way to activate your heat seeking missile is by writing down your goals. It is no accident that people who write down their goals achieve them at an accelerate rate. There are studies to support this! Why is there power in the written word? Maybe because your subconscious mind is reading what you write. </p>
<p>Sit down today, take a couple deep breaths to clear your mind. Think back to a time you felt healthy. What size were you? What did you weigh? What shape were you in? Let your mind settle on this with an open mind. Suspend all judgement. Write down your desired target with as much detail as possible. Once it is written, put it somewhere where you can see it daily. </p>

<div>This week&#8217;s theme is to SNAP OUT OF IT! I can already tell that a lot of people won&#8217;t like it. I say this because I am implying that we are responsible for our thoughts, feelings and habits. The mind will follow whatever it has been programmed to do. It likes the path of least resistance. If you believe that you can&#8217;t lose weight because&#8230;..(fill in the blank)&#8230;your mind will say &#8220;OKAY&#8221; and follow that direction.</div>
<div> </div>
<div>Your mind is filled with beliefs and thoughts that are not empowering. If you allow your mind to dwell there for even a second, you risk starting a chain reaction. First you will feel negative, (defeated, discouraged, uncertain, etc). You won&#8217;t know why you feel this way but you will. Then you will unknowingly believe that the thought and feelings are true and you will act on it! This is the very, very, very important part. If you act on the negative feeling, it will usually be in the form of self-sabotage. Because the mind says &#8220;OKAY&#8221; it will point you in the direction of what will reinforce what you told it to do. I can talk about this for days and weeks, because it IS happening all of the time. As a matter of fact, it is happening right now. What are you saying to yourself as you read this article? If is it positive you will do something proactive. If it is negative, you will dismiss what is being said and look for reasons why this won&#8217;t help you. Remember what you think is true&#8230;is true&#8230;for you. This will create a self fulfilling prophecy. You can change this pattern.</div>

<div>Here is how you can snap out of it: </div>
<div> </div>
<div>STOP the negative thought pattern, the moment you become aware of it.</div>
<div>CHANGE your thoughts and self-talk.</div>
<div>FLOOD your mind with positive messages.</div>
<div>ACT in a way that supports your healthy and fit body.</div>
<div> </div>
<div>Don&#8217;t  fall into the trap of believing negative messages about yourself. You are amazing and capable of losing weight and keeping it off. It is normal to operate on autopilot and not pay attention. But who said normal is optimal? Don&#8217;t follow the crowd, they are in a trance. It is time to change this dynamic. You do this by snapping out of the trance.</div>

<div>When you catch yourself thinking negative, stop and say to yourself &#8220;SNAP OUT OF IT!&#8221; Think of something positive instead. 			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>This weeks theme is about the power of your mind. From the moment we are born, we are subjected to messages. Our parents, friends, schools, religious affiliations and the media are all tell us who we are and what we should believe. People we love and people we don’t know or like have the ability to influence our minds. What you believe is true is rooted in your mind. But have you ever wondered where it originated? Have you wondered “where in the world did this belief come from?” I challenge you do just that. Listen to your thoughts and what you tell people. Then ask yourself when did you decide that was true for you? You will more than likely realize that it was never a belief you chose but somehow inherited. Keep the empowering ones and change the negative ones. I will help you to do this. Let’s start in one area, your weight and body image. Listen to your thoughts, self-talk and conversations regarding your weight and body. When it is self-limiting, STOP and ask yourself where that came from. Then choose to change it. Prior to losing weight, I would say things like “I look pretty good for having two kids”. Then I asked where did that belief come from? It wasn’t me, it was well meaning people who loved me. But that believe did not empower me, I started to wonder if women who had two kids could look fit. Guess what I discovered? They could! Once I told my mind that I wanted that instead, I started to work out more, eat healthier and believe! I now believe that women can have children and be in great shape. This is the topic of my ezine this week – I am introducing the week’s theme with an assignment. They are short but the intention is to help you change the way you think for the better. <p>This week&#8217;s theme for Mind Over Platter is to NOT carb load. The holiday season offers numerous opportunities to indulge in impact carbs. Impact carbs are sugar based and will cause your blood sugar to fluctuate. This quickly becomes addictive because you will crave more sugar to satisfy the body&#8217;s desire to stabilize blood sugar levels. By reducing impact carbs, you will break the roller coaster cycle. The side benefit is that if you continue this for a few days, you will jolt your metabolism. This week, stop carb loading. If you are not sure how to do this, read my free ebook The 21 Day-Diet TM, it will explain the process. If you don&#8217;t have time to read it but want to try reducing impact carbs. Avoid foods that contain white flour or sugar and you will be successful.</p>

<p>This small shift will put you in charge of designing your lifestyle not the other way around.</p>
